Who we are

What we collect

Almost everything we collect is what you type into a form on this site. Depending on the form, that is:

• Your name, phone number and email address.
• Your city or project address, project type, and anything you write in the message field.
• Project details you choose to give us: approximate square footage, budget range, whether you have plans or an architect.
• If you use a cost calculator, the selections you made and the ballpark range they produced, so we can pick up where you left off.
• If you download a guide or unlock one of our tools, your email address and any company or role you provide.
• If you sign up for our newsletter, your email address.
• If we ask how your project went and you respond, your star rating and any feedback you write.

We also record a small amount of context automatically:

• The page you submitted a form from, including any campaign tags in the address, so we know which page or ad brought you in.
• Your IP address, briefly, to limit repeated automated submissions. We do not store it with your enquiry.
• Routine server logs kept by our hosting provider, the same logs every website keeps.

We do not ask for, want, or store payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or any other sensitive identifiers through this website.

Why we collect it

To respond to your request: to prepare an estimate, answer a question, send the document you asked for, and follow up about your project. If you asked us to contact you, we will. We do not use your information for anything you did not ask us to do.

Emails, calls and texts you may get from us

When you submit a project enquiry, we reply to it. That means a confirmation email and a call, email or text from us about your project, using the contact details you gave us. That is us answering you, not marketing.

Marketing email is different, and it is opt-in. Our forms include an unticked checkbox asking whether you want occasional tips, pricing updates and offers. If you leave it unticked, you will not get marketing email from us. If you tick it, every marketing message we send includes a working unsubscribe link, and clicking it stops them immediately. If a message to you bounces or you mark one as spam, we stop emailing you without being asked.

After a project wraps up we may send one short email asking how it went, with a link to rate us. High ratings offer you the option of posting a Google review; anything less comes straight to us privately so we can make it right. We do not text you for marketing purposes.

AI-assisted replies

The first reply to a new enquiry is sometimes drafted with the help of an AI writing tool, so you hear back from us quickly at any hour. To draft it, the details you submitted (your name, project type, city and message) are processed by our AI provider on our behalf. The provider is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes, and a real person at Artistic Construction reads your enquiry and handles everything after that first note.

Who we share it with

We do not sell the details you type into our forms, and we do not hand that contact information to data brokers. It is visible to our own staff, and it is stored and handled by the service providers who run this site for us:

• Our hosting provider (Vercel), which serves the site and keeps its logs.
• Our database provider (Supabase), where enquiries are stored.
• Our email provider (Resend), which delivers the emails described above.
• Our messaging provider (Twilio), which sends the internal text that alerts our team a new enquiry arrived.
• Our AI provider (Anthropic), which drafts the first reply described above.

Each of these processes your information on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.

We do, however, use Google and Meta (Facebook) advertising and analytics tools on this site, described below. Those tools collect activity data directly through your browser and share it with Google and Meta, who act as our measurement and advertising partners. We will also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

We use Google Tag Manager to load a small set of measurement and advertising tools: Google Analytics 4 (to see which pages people use and how they move through the site), Google Ads (to measure when an ad led to an enquiry), and the Meta Pixel (the same, for Facebook and Instagram ads). These set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser, for example _ga, _gcl_au and _fbp, and share your activity on this site with Google and Meta. This can be used to measure our advertising and to show you our ads on other sites and apps.

We use this only to understand how the site performs and how well our advertising works, never to collect payment details or sensitive information. You can opt out of ad personalization at Google My Ad Center and in your Facebook ad preferences, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser that limits tracking. We also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics from our hosting provider to count page views and page-load speed; it records no cookies and nothing that identifies you personally.

Beyond those, the site stores two small things in your own browser: a note of which popups you have already seen, so we do not show you the same one twice, and the cookie that keeps a staff member signed in to our internal admin console, which is not accessible to the public. Neither leaves your browser or identifies you to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep project enquiries for as long as we may reasonably need them: to service your project, honor our workmanship warranty, and meet our record-keeping obligations. If you want yours removed sooner, ask us. One exception: if you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we know not to email you again.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email info@artisticconstruction.biz and we will take care of it. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works with one click, no login and no questions.

Children

This site is meant for adults hiring a contractor. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

Everything you submit through this site travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is stored in an access-controlled database. Only our staff can read enquiries, each staff account has its own login, and what each account can see and change depends on that person's role. We collect no payment card data through this website, and we do not keep information we do not need, which is the best protection there is.

No system is perfect. If you believe you have found a security problem with this website, email info@artisticconstruction.biz with the details and we will look into it promptly.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be called out here.
